A former worker at Dangote’s cement company, Jeffery Boateng, has alleged that after sacrificing four years of his time building the company here in Ghana, he was fired for demanding a raise.

In a chat with DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa, Jeffrey complained that they and his college colleagues had decided to hold a demonstration for the raise. Instead, however, he lost his job.

“We held a demonstration just because we fought with management over the raise. Our salary was very bad and some of my colleagues are still complaining. About 20 of us were deposed because we were the leaders who started the demonstration.

“Four years without benefits and also in the last month before the termination, we were not paid. The reason for this was that we did not inform the local union and it cost the company a large amount, ”he said.

The plant manufacturer added that he would not let this stave off his success. He later built a mobile air conditioning business.

According to Jeff, his company was the main plug repairing ACs for all toll booths in Ghana.
